Made from high-quality American Black walnut that has been sustainably harvested, each countertop is finished with a food-safe penetrating oil, the same finish used on John Boos' famous cutting boards and butcher blocks. This oil is designed to be absorbed into the wood fibers, enhancing water resistance and facilitating easy cleanup of spills.

To maintain the beauty and durability of this countertop, it is recommended to periodically oil it with John Boos Mystery Oil (sold separately). The construction of each countertop includes full-length exterior rails and random finger-jointed interior rails, ensuring stability and a unique appearance. When installing, it is important to provide support for any overhang of 8 inches or more in width and 12 inches or more in length.

These richly-colored walnut countertops are designed to complement any kitchen style and are a practical alternative to granite or stone. Ideal for food preparation and cutting, they are available in Varnique (sealed/finished) versions as well. Note that these countertops are not reversible, and slight irregularities on the underside are intentional and do not affect the functionality or appearance when installed.
